(The runner of the activity makes it up on the spot.) Then, the kids vote on who the mafiah is. If the person who was not the mafiah gets voted out. They are out of the game. The game goes on until the mafiah is found. Each round a new doctor/angel is picked.

July 25th Overview

All week campers and staff have been preparing skits to show off their amazing talents. As part of this weeks theme, Prime time, each group will present a skit for the rest of the camp. The skit ideas ranged from beach fun to a suspenseful quest. Each group put on a dazzling performance and wowed the crowd. In between practicing their skits, campers participated in games such as gaga, steal the bacon and of course, dodgeball!

GAGA!
  • While trapped in a small, walled octagon, campers had to try to eliminate opponents by hitting their legs with a ball. This may seem easy but there's a twist, campers had to keep the ball in the octagon and could only hit it with their hands (no catching and throwing allowed). This game provided not only fun but intense competition between campers.

Steal the Bacon
  • Campers and staff were divided into two teams and were paired with someone on the opposing team. Each pair had to race to grab the ball in the center of the gym and bring it back to their own side.

Dr. Dodgeball
  • Dr. Dodgeball is a camp favorite in which one chosen person has the ability to save team members who have gotten out. As soon as the doctor is out, no one in the team can be saved. This game is enjoyed by all ages and is played often.

Magic Nuudles

  • During this arts and crafts activity campers squished together colorful Styrofoam pellets to make cool designs. Campers could also play with string, making friendship bracelets.

SKITS!!!!!

  • After working extremely hard all week to prepare their skits, groups finally presented their masterpieces.

July 26 Overview

Okay, well rainy and wet were definitely adjectives for today! So, we spent the day inside. We said goodbye to groups 4 and 5 who left us for the morning to go and see Oklahoma at the Hanover Theater in Worcester. But back here at camp we played gym games including pickle, king pin dodge ball and handball.
Pickle is not the food, its a game where campers run back and forth between two mats with one person in the middle trying to hit them with a dodge ball. Campers also played handball, a mix of football and soccer with your hands. Finally, king pin dodge ball is where campers have two teams and teams try to knock down the other teams pins. The team that knocks down the other teams pins first is out. Finally, campers played on the computers. Our after noon was spent playing Wii Just Dance and indoor inflatables. So this week ended with a smile!

Fear Factor- July 18!!!!!- By Nick Gagne

Fear Factor has been part of summer camp for the past 4 years. This year was probably the most disgusting as each group competed against each other for points. Now that we have evolved. we all enjoyed it.

Activity 1- M&M's With Ketchup and Barbecue Sauce

One Camper decides to go with barbecue sauce
Campers got told that they had to eat M and M's without their hands- sounds easy, right? Well after we got volunteers, the CIT's announced that volunteer's had to decide between ketchup and barbecue sauce. Was that surprising. Mike filled in for a camper it was some good, camp fun!

Dance Parties!!!!

When CIT's set up for the next activity, we had some awesome dance parties!!!!

Activity 2- Jello Straws

Sofia in Group 5 tries the straw
Strategy
Three different cups of jello were set up to test the campers ability to suck jello through a straw. In the middle of the jello was a gummy worm. Three volunteers from each group had to run from one side of their table to the front table where they had to suck up or eat the jello handles. When they finished their jello, they ran back to tag the next person in line. Three jello's were set up for each team.

Here is what the campers had to eat

The slimy mess

Activity 3- Slimy Search

Campers had to stick there hand and find gummy bears in a bucket of a messy concoction. They had one minute to find as many gummy bears with their hands. Each group sent up a camper and a counselor to find the most. The winner of it all was group 5 who won 100 points.
Group 5's volunteer!!!

The Main Course!

The Final Activity- Spam Dogs and Beans

So for this final activity, we had only counselors compete for their group. Three counselors from each group was required. Two toilet paper wrappers and the mummy and spam dog eater. It began when the two wrapping counselors wrapped  the spam eater in toilet paper to make him a mummy. They then ran to the table to eat their spam dog and beans without their hands. The winner was group 5's Chris Hines who finished first!!!
