Festival Week Day 5

Its the Last Day of Camp!!!

It is a calm and fun-filled last day. Group 4 and 5 went on a field trip to Canobie Lake Park. There they went on many fun and fast rides and experienced many activites and wonders of the Canobie amusement park. For Groups 1, 2, and 3 who are spending their last day of summer camp at the school, they had Magic World the last 3 periods. For those who do not know what Magic World is, it is a whole bunch of fun activities such as a dunk tank, cotton candy maker, bouncy house, etc. During the day, the campers worked with clay, went to the computers and played two games called Smush and Ships Catptain in the Gym.

Festival Week Day 4

2 More Days To Go!!!

Today was a very special day at camp. The fire department came to spray the campers with water! And it is safe to say that all the campers and some of the Jr. Staff got absolutely soaked. Everyone was screaming with joy as they ran under the water. As well, at the end of they day there was the Summer Camp finale slideshow that was kindly put together by Jenna. And to end the battle between Groups 4 and 5, they again settled the differences via a game of dodgeball; for now! During the day, Group 5 took a walking field trip to Dairy Queen. Some of the activities that went on during the day was World Cup, Melting Beads, and Dead Donkey.

Festival Week Day 3

Good Wednesday.

It was a very special day because at the end of the day there was a staff Dogbeball match. Group 5 played Dogeball and Mushroom ball earlier in the day. During the day, Group 1 played Mat ball. Group 4 took a walking field trip to Dairy Queen to have some delicious ice cream. One of the activities was watercolor painting. There were many awesome pictures produced. Campers from Group 3 put on a little show that was about all the counselors and how they were various kinds of foods. they used the pictures that they made in watercolor painting. Ransome was another activity that was played. In this game, the campers have to collect as many balls and pennys which are equivalent to points and the team with the most points win. It is a very strategic and fun game. At the end of the day Group 4 and 5 are facing each other in a game of Nuke 'em. Group 1, 2, and 3 are having a dance competition party as well are going to play Hide and Seek.

Hello.

Today, the campers of Groups 2 and 3 went on a field trip to Armstrong after snack. There was a game of Pillow Polo and played on the playground. Throughout the day, there was a water activity called Freeze Tag With the Hose.

The oject of the game is the campers try to move around without the staff seeing them. And if the staff did see the campers move, they were then sprayed with water. Also, the campers played Red light, Green light. On the turf, the campers played Capture the Flag. Groups 4 and 5 played each other, again to prove which group is better. And in the gym today, games of Pirate Ball and Traffic jam were played. It was a very busy day and as well the fun never stopped.

Festival Week Day 1

Monday, August 13, 2012

It is the final week of Westborough Summer Camp and the excitment and fun of camp still continues. Today, the campers are experiencing fun, crafty and athletic activities! Such activities are Mat ball, the famous fruit cocktail, handball, and gimp/bracelet making. Group 4 starts the day with Handball preparing themselves for the USA Olympic Handball Team "tryouts". However, Group 3 start with a more artistic start to the day, releasing their "inner" bracelet making skills. Group 5 starts off the day with becoming detectives by playing Hide and Seek. Group 1 and 2 start the day by playing the famous game of Fruit Cocktail. At the end of the day, the competition is on again between Group 4 and 5 and the rivalry continues!!! The groups use dodgeball to "settle" their differences. The campers of Groups 4 and 5 give it their all out on the dogbeball feild. However, there are still four more days to go and sure enough, "the battle" will not stop until the end of the camp.

Vale's Music Express is a new addition to the Westborough Community Education camp, but everyone seems to be enjoying her workshop! One of our activity specialists Vale, is teaching the campers all about music through a music workshop that she is hosting. The Cup Game is also a new activity where the campers learn a rhythm that they have to play on the cups. Once the campers get the rhythm down, they can make it faster and faster, or they can make the rhythm harder. Another special addition to Mystery Week is the full camp activity that is taking place throughout the whole week. A special pig that has been stolen will be hid in random places around the camp, each day. While traveling to each activity, the groups have to be on the look-out for the pig, to win the points. The Scorcher

Today, July 17th, the campers are trying to stay cool in the scorching hot weather by participating in some indoor activities and water activities. Some of these games include Charades, Wii Just Dance, Pickle, Color Guard, and practicing their skits. Wii Just Dance is set up in the auditorium where the campers will follow along to a dance that is projected onto the screen. Pickle is a game that is similar to baseball, where the campers are stuck on two bases, but the point is to get to the other base without getting hit by the ball. Color Guard is just like Fruit Cocktail but with water balloons. The campers had some time today to practice and polish their skits that they are preparing for Thursday.
