Every group is making banners today for this week, this activity is creative and something the whole group does together. Another activity that we have going on all day is called Bean Bag Toe Tag, this is not a tournament game but a game for the kids to play for their enjoyment. Lastly, all the groups will be doing a cooking activity throughout the day they will be making Twinkies.

Thursday July 26

Today, July 26th, we have mixed up the schedule a little bit because of the rain. Group 2 and 3 will not be attending their walking field trip to Armstrong today but rather they will be playing Wii games. Group 5 will not be going on their walking field trip either to Dairy Queen, but instead they will be playing dodge ball and wiffle ball. Groups 1 and 4 will be making Twix Bars today along with playing with Foam. During the afternoon, the entire camp will participate in the Camp Mystery. This is a camp-wide activity where each group will have to look for clues around the High School and find out who stole the lost pig. It is going to be an exciting day today and we are looking forward to an eventful day tomorrow. Check out these pictures from today!

Groups 1 will be going on there walking field trip to Armstrong today and Group 4 will be going on a walking field trip to dairy queen, while the rest of the groups stay at the camp and have fun activities planned for them.         Today, July 23rd, we are kicking off Mystery Week with numerous activities that include Pillow Polo, Nature Walk, The Cup Game, Traffic Jam, Vale's Music Express, and making melting beads. Vale's Music Express is a new addition to the Westborough Community Education camp, but everyone seems to be enjoying her workshop! One of our activity specialists Vale, is teaching the campers all about music through a music workshop that she is hosting. The Cup Game is also a new activity where the campers learn a rhythm that they have to play on the cups. Once the campers get the rhythm down, they can make it faster and faster, or they can make the rhythm harder. Another special addition to Mystery Week is the full camp activity that is taking place throughout the whole week. A special pig that has been stolen will be hid in random places around the camp, each day. While traveling to each activity, the groups have to be on the look-out for the pig, to win the points. This activity will be going on throughout the whole week, each day. We are looking forward to an exciting week planned that will be filled with spooky, fun, and new activities for the campers.          Today, July 19th, we prepared for the performances of all of the skits! While awaiting these performances that took place at 2:30 in the auditorium, the campers participated in Fruit Cocktail, Sponge Painting, Dr. Dodge ball, and making chocolate marshmallows. Throughout the day, the campers had the opportunity to practice their skits and get their supplies needed for the skits. Finally, when 2:30 came around, the auditorium was packed with supportive parents and friends of the campers that were ready to cheer on every group. Group 1 performed a creative skit that was based off of a dance party that consisted of many different songs. Group 2's skit was a performance of a man checking out a pet shop, looking for an animal to buy. Group 3 performed a talent show where each camper had the chance to show off their unique skills. Group 4's skit was a love story between a sergeant and a new recruit. Group 5 performed a skit that represented what went on in two outgoing and unique twins' heads, Milan and Miles. The CIT's reenacted a crazy circus that was a crowd pleaser when they smashed a pie in Jenna's (Staff member's) face. Lastly, the Junior Staff performed a Skit that represented a "Day in the Office". In conclusion, the performances went just as planned, and everyone in the auditorium had a great afternoon filled with laughter and smiles. We will find out tomorrow who won the Best Skit!

Wacky Wicked Wednesday

Today, July 18th, we are trying to stay dry here at the Westborough Community Education Camp, while still having an exciting day. The groups participated in activities that included Beaded Jewelry, Feech and Mooch, marshmallow creations, nature walk, and more skit practice! Feech and Mooch is charades but with teams. Whoever can guess the answer right the fastest, wins the points. We are getting excited for our Skit Day tomorrow that will take place in the auditorium at 2:30 PM. Every group has prepared a 5 minute skit that they will perform along with one from the CIT's and Junior Staff as well. Each skit will be judged, and one of the skits will be awarded the "Best skit", and receive all of the points! We are welcoming any family or friends to join this performance to not only watch their children, but to also cheer on other groups. Here are a couple pictures taken from today!

The Scorcher

Today, July 17th, the campers are trying to stay cool in the scorching hot weather by participating in some indoor activities and water activities. Some of these games include Charades, Wii Just Dance, Pickle, Color Guard, and practicing their skits. Wii Just Dance is set up in the auditorium where the campers will follow along to a dance that is projected onto the screen. Pickle is a game that is similar to baseball, where the campers are stuck on two bases, but the point is to get to the other base without getting hit by the ball. Color Guard is just like Fruit Cocktail but with water balloons. The campers had some time today to practice and polish their skits that they are preparing for Thursday. We had a fun day today at camp, that consisted of a variety of activities. Check out some of the awesome pictures taken today!

Monday July 16

Today, Monday July 16, we are kicking off the week by brainstorming for Skit Day that will occur on Thursday, July 19th. Each group is preparing a skit that they will perform this Thursday, where they will be judged by the judges. The Junior Staff and CIT's will also prepare skits of their own that will entertain the audience with their lively performance. While we are looking forward to our Skit Day, the campers participated in some fun activities today that included "Anything Fabric", "Doctor Dodge Ball", and "Steal the Bacon". "Anything Fabric" is a game where there is a bandana and the campers have to be creative and think of something that the bandana could stand for. One camper at a time then takes the bandana and acts out what they thought the bandana would be. The group then has to guess what the bandana is, in that specific situation. "Steal The Bacon" is a physical game that tests the campers listening skills and stamina. We have had a wonderful day today at the Westborough Community Education Camp, and we are looking forward to an eventful week ahead of us. Check out the most recent pictures from today!

Today, Friday the 13th, we said our goodbyes to Group 4 and Group 5 when they left for Kimball's Farm this morning. We are sure that they had an amazing time and made remarkable memories. Some of the activities that the rest of the groups participated in were Mat Ball, Spud, and Hot Potato Water. Mat Ball is just like kick ball, but instead, the players keep running around the bases to score points. Spud is a game that involves concentration and fast speed to become the winner. During Hot Potato Water, the campers not only got soaked in water, but had a good time while doing it. After lunch, we had HUGE bouncy houses delivered that included the Wrecking Ball and the Water Slide. The campers had the time of their lives playing and competing on these bouncy houses with their friends, Counselors, Junior Staff, and CIT's. We have had an amazing week this week, but we are looking forward to next week where all of the skits will take place. Check out these cool pictures taken from today!

Today, July 12th, we are having our Fear Factor Day! The Junior Staff this year are running this exhilarating day, which includes 6 different challenges that will test the campers, to see who really will be able to face their fears. We kicked off the day with Acrylic Painting, where each group made creative paintings that they can take home. The campers also participated in Ultimate Football and Asteroids, which are games that involve teamwork and participation. Lastly, the campers participated in creating Friendship Bracelets along with “Traffic Jam”. Group 5 today, ventured to Dairy Queen where they cooled off with some delicious treats while having a good time. We are looking forward to Fear Factor in the afternoon where the campers will be participating in 6 activities that will be gross, intimidating, and frightening. Three of these activities will be eating activities, while the other three will be physical tests. The first eating activity is the Squid challenge where the campers will eat the gummy-wormed squids off of a string, like an eating donut challenge. The second eating challenge is the Cat Litter Cake, where the campers will have to eat a plate full of "Moldy Cat Litter" made of cake and crushed cookies and tootsie rolls, without their hands. The last eating challenge is Jell-O Worms where the campers will have to eat a Jell-O shaped worm with cooked rice in it, to look like maggots. The physical activities will include Iron Ball which is an activity where the campers will step in a bucket filled with ice with marbles placed on the bottom. They will have to pick up the marbles with their toes, and they will receive points towards their team! Another physical activity is the Target Challenge where there are multiple targets set up, that are worth different amounts of points. The campers will have to use tennis balls to try and hit them, to receive points. The last physical challenge is the Bucket Challenge where there is a bucket that is filled with slime and gooey beads, with multiple items stuck inside. The camper’s mission is to retrieve the items, while being blind-folded the whole time. Each of these activities will the test the campers ability both physically and mentally to face their fears. We are excited for an eventful afternoon planned, and a fun day tomorrow! Check out these crazy pictures from Fear Factor Today!
